Power Packed Fruit of the Spirit Playlist

The Fruits of the Spirit have been important to me for many years. 

 

Sometimes I think we put too much pressure on ourselves and our lives surrounding the idea of purpose, and God's will for our lives. We are often made to believe we were created for this one path or one calling. I find that this can be misleading, and even at times discouraging. 

 

If we find ourselves chasing this one major unknown purpose, we miss out on so much that God has for us in every single day!  

 

I think it's okay to not have all the answers in regards to our specific purpose or calling. What if our purpose isn't about something so specific, but just about whether or not we are full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control? 

 

To me, the gospel is simple. 

 

When we seek the Fruits of the Spirit, from my perspective, we are actually seeking Jesus. The Fruits are His representation...His manifestation in this world. The way I see it, Jesus is alive and well on planet Earth, through the Fruits of His Spirit! 

 

When we see these things, experience these things, and practice these things, we are encountering Jesus, and bringing Him to those around us as well!

So here are my favorite songs that help me stay connected to Jesus through each of the Fruits of His powerful Spirit.

 

LOVE- The One You Love by Elevation Worship...This song blesses me SO much. From the moment it starts, I feel enveloped in the LOVE of God. It is so personal and touches my heart in a very deep place. Many days I have this one on repeat. 

 

JOY- Joy by Ben Rector...I've been a Ben Rector fan for a really long time. This is a new one for him and I like it a lot! It's the last song on his album The Joy of Music, and at the end of it he thanks a bunch of people in a really personal way...it's really sweet. I absolutely love that one of the Fruits of the Spirit is the subject of a mainstream song, the theme of the album it's in, AND the name of the character on the cover of it! The Spirit of Jesus is alive and well all over the place, if we only have the eyes to SEE. :)

 

PEACE- Peace by Shades...beautifully peaceful song!

 

PATIENCE- Wait on You by Maverick City Music...this is a great song to sing as a prayer when you need patience...especially if you are having to wait for something in life.

 

KINDNESS- Fall Into Kindness by NCC Worship

 

GOODNESS- Goodness of God by Bethel

 

FAITHFULNESS- Promises by Maverick City Music...one of my all time favorite songs right now!

 

GENTLENESS- With Great Gentleness(Live) by Sandra McCracken...this is a new song to me and I think it's beautiful. 

 

SELF-CONTROL- A Message from Peter by Sundry...this song has a really special place in my heart because our son wrote it AND he is the male vocalist in it (and guitarist)! The message of the song comes from the Bible verses 1 Peter 5:8-9 which says, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings."
